1. Accepting these terms

By accessing or using Reasoning Referee, submitting material, or purchasing a scenario review, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 18 years old, or use the service with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

2. What the service provides

Reasoning Referee publishes educational and editorial analysis of disagreements, arguments, frameworks, fallacies, biases, evidence gaps, incentives, and tradeoffs. Its observations are interpretive and may be incomplete, provisional, or later revised. The service is designed to improve the quality of inquiry, not to tell readers what to believe.

3. Community Docket

The Community Docket lets visitors cast one verified vote per email in each open Docket. You may not automate votes, use addresses you do not control, or evade duplicate-vote controls. Results help inform our editorial priorities; they do not create a promise to publish a topic, publish it by a particular date, or reach a particular conclusion. We may remove fraudulent votes, change candidate topics, close voting, or exercise editorial judgment when circumstances require it.

4. Scenario review purchases

The currently displayed submission price purchases thoughtful editorial review of the material you provide. It does not guarantee publication, a deadline, a favorable analysis, acceptance of your framing, an investigation, fact-checking of every claim, or any particular outcome. Stripe processes payment.

If you made a duplicate payment or believe a charge was made in error, contact [email protected]. Cancellation and refund requests will be considered based on whether review work has begun, the circumstances of the request, and applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived.

4. Your submissions and our editorial permission

You retain ownership of original material you submit. You grant Reasoning Referee a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to store, review, reproduce, research, adapt, edit, summarize, anonymize, combine, publish, display, distribute, and promote that material in connection with the service and its content. This permission continues for material already incorporated into published work, even if you later request deletion of your account-level information.

Publication may omit your name, alter wording, add context, present stronger versions of competing positions, cite supplied sources, and reach conclusions you did not expect. A published page is called a discussion; your credit, when requested, identifies you as the contributor of its originating scenario rather than the author of Reasoning Referee’s analysis. Attribution will follow the display preference selected at submission, subject to editorial and legal considerations.

5. What you promise when submitting

You represent that you have the right to provide the material; that it is not knowingly false, unlawful, defamatory, threatening, harassing, invasive of privacy, infringing, deceptive, or malicious; and that sharing it does not violate a duty of confidentiality. Do not include private credentials, payment-card data, unnecessary medical information, or identifying details about vulnerable people.

6. Acceptable use

You may not disrupt or probe the service; bypass access controls; scrape at a harmful or excessive rate; introduce malicious code; impersonate another person; use the site to harass, defraud, or violate law; submit automated spam; or attempt unauthorized access to submissions, subscriber information, administrative tools, or systems.

7. Our content

The site’s design, branding, original writing, analysis, organization, and software are owned by Reasoning Referee or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. You may link to public pages and quote limited portions for commentary, education, or criticism with clear attribution. Other reproduction, republication, commercial exploitation, or creation of a competing dataset requires prior written permission unless the law permits it.

8. No professional advice or guaranteed accuracy

Content is provided for general educational and editorial purposes. It is not legal, medical, mental-health, financial, investment, tax, safety, or other professional advice. Do not rely on it as a substitute for qualified advice or verified primary sources. We work toward fairness and accuracy but do not warrant that content is complete, current, error-free, or suitable for a particular decision.

9. Third-party services and links

The service may depend on or link to third parties, including payment, email, analytics, hosting, articles, social posts, and video platforms. We do not control their availability, content, security, or practices, and their terms may apply separately.

10. Moderation, availability, and termination

We may reject, remove, correct, revise, or decline to publish material at our discretion. We may suspend or limit access when needed to protect the service, users, or others. We may change or discontinue features and do not promise uninterrupted availability.

11. Disclaimers and limits

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Reasoning Referee will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of data, revenue, opportunity, or reputation arising from use of the service.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our aggregate liability relating to a paid scenario review will not exceed the amount you paid for that review, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

12. Changes and general terms

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. The effective date will change, and continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. If one provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver. These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the agreement concerning the service.
